I wish these posters were less heavy on the cliche blue and orange treatment, but we can’t have everything we want. I’ve attached a few of my favorite posters. My Little Pony: The Movie Trailer. The first trailer for the upcoming My Little Pony: The Movie has dropped, along with a new poster for the film. The 8. 0s toy phenomenon turned animated hit announced a move to the big screen back in 2. TV series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and several straight- to- DVD films with a huge theatrical release. The movie will include all the most popular elements and characters from the animated series, of course, while pitting the core ponies against a new threat to Equestria in a full- length adventure. The movie will reunite the voice cast of the animated series to play the Mane 6, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity, but also adds several A- List celebrities to the cast list. An earlier teaser trailer has already put the focus on the star- studded cast, but now the first full- length trailer and brand- new poster have arrived, giving fans a better look at things to come.
The trailer was posted by Lionsgate, and sets up the basic premise for the film. At just under two and a half minutes long, it introduces Tempest (Emily Blunt), the new threat to the peaceful land of Equestria, and shows how the Mane 6 escape her invasion. From there, the ponies travel to far- off lands, and meet some brand- new friends, including mer- ponies and pirates, before returning to save the day (with the power of friendship). A new poster for the move has also been released (via Coming Soon), showing the Mane 6 and their new friends, and featuring the tagline “Discover A Different Breed Of Hero”. The names of the cast are also featured on the poster, including Blunt, Kristen Chenoweth, Liev Schreiber, Michael Peña, Sia, Tay Diggs, Uzo Aduba, and Zoe Saldana. It’s fantastic to get a look at the new characters that some of these big names will be playing in action, although the trailer definitely shows off some more than others. As Maggie Madsen and Glen Whitmann crack the Cybertronian code, a small My Little Pony Minty figure can be seen sitting atop Glen's computer. Transformers: The Movie. Tempest gets the most attention (as the big bad), while others, like Tay Digg’s Capper, don’t make an appearance. Of course, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, as no fan wants to see a trailer that gives everything away upfront. For fans of the show, My Little Pony: The Movie looks like everything a pony could want, with the same bright colors, fun and friendship that made the original such a huge hit. It’s also got plenty of self- aware humor for adult fans to enjoy — including a fantastic line from Schreiber’s Storm King that pokes fun at all that cloyingly sweet stuff.
